Mountain Biking in Jackson Hole
Hoback is a stellar location for accessing the best of Jackson Hole’s mountain biking.
Most adventurers think of Jackson Hole as a mecca for skiing, mountaineering, or fly fishing; meaning local riders often have the world class mountain biking terrain in Jackson Hole all to themselves. Now starting to gain a reputation for great mountain biking, we’re happy to share our recommendations for the best singletrack in Jackson Hole. Snake River Cabins and RV Village sits just south of Jackson, in close proximity to a variety of mountain biking trails that are sure to get you stoked during your next stay with us.
Munger Mountain
A local’s favorite and only nine miles away from Snake River Cabins and RV Village; this single-track trail system makes for beautiful rides through an alpine setting, with stunning views of the Tetons and Gros Ventre mountains. Our favorite jaunt is the classic Munger Mountain Loop, offering 8.5 miles of fun climbing and exciting downhills.
Teton Pass
The first mountain bike trails established on National Forest Land, these incredible trails have a culture like no other. For most, shuttling laps to the top of the pass is the name of the game, and the bliss of riding thousands of vertical feet of jumplines, berms, and unique features begs to be celebrated at the Stagecoach (a popular bar and restaurant at the bottom of the pass). You might as well do your stretches in your cabin, because a 20 minute drive out the door will get you to the bottom of the pass and ripping laps.
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
Less than a 30 minute drive from Snake River Cabins, there is plenty of excitement to be found at this world-famous ski destination, even after the snow melts. A dozen trails, jam-packed with every feature imaginable, are serviced by Sweetwater Gondola and the Teewinot chairlift. Best pace yourself, as the trails are long, the lifts are short and you’ll be feeling how much fun you’re having by how sore your hands are.
Game Creek
An 8 minute drive (or five mile ride) from Snake River Cabins is a popular mountain biking trailhead, famous for the Cache-Game Loop. This 25 mile, cross-country ride will wind through meadows and beautiful forest; offering gratifying climbs and epic downhills. In either direction, we recommend taking your time on this loop and enjoying that you’ll eventually end up in downtown Jackson. Grabbing lunch in town can make for a fun addition to an epic ride.
